Lithuania is launching a €12 million call for digital activities of enterprises, €5 million is available for projects in Vilnius region

The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation is launching a €12 million call for funding to develop and improve the deployment and visual configuration of e-commerce transaction solutions.

“Businesses that are cyber- and digitally-oriented are stronger, more innovative and more resilient to unexpected challenges. To further strengthen the market for e-commerce and services, we are launching a call that will be particularly useful for small and medium-sized enterprises looking to digitise the services they need for their markets,” said Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of the Economy and Innovation.

Up to €5 million is available for projects in the Capital – Vilnius region and up to €7 million for small and medium-sized enterprises operating in Central and Western Lithuania.

The maximum amount of funding that can be granted to a project is €25,000 for the deployment of e-sales transaction solutions, €25,000 for the visual configuration (configuration and visualisation of services and products) and €50,000 for both activities. The minimum amount of funding that can be granted to a project is €10,000.

“This measure will allow businesses to strengthen the security of their electronic transactions, which is crucial for online trading at both national and international level. This funding will also help businesses to improve their online shops and design elements,” said Iveta Paludnevičiūtė, Chancellor of the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation.

According to the State Data Agency, 60.6% of large enterprises, 46.2% of medium-sized enterprises and 34.9% of small enterprises were engaged in e-commerce in 2021. The largest share of e-commerce enterprises were in the field of information and communication (49.9%), trade (48.2%) and professional, scientific and technical activities (38.6%).

To strengthen the Lithuanian economy, the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation will launch calls totalling almost €1 billion by the end of 2023. Around €365 million is earmarked for business, innovation and investment, €320 million for digitalisation of the state and business, and €268 million for a greener economy.

The “Digitalisation of SMEs” measure is implemented under the Programme for the European Union Funds’ Investments 2021-2027.
