Turing College Secures €2.5M EIC Grant to Pioneer AI-Driven Adult Education

2024/11/05

Turing College has received a €2.5 million grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC) to advance groundbreaking AI solutions in adult education. From nearly 1,000 applicants, they were one of only about 70 companies chosen this year.

This grant is a big leap forward for Turing College’s mission to make education smarter and more adaptive. With a focus on AI tools that amplify human expertise rather than replace it, Turing College aims to provide mentors and learners with advanced tools to drive learning forward.

AI has the potential to reshape education, and Turing College has spent the last eight years exploring how. Now, this EIC grant is set to propel that work to the next level. The team plans to build AI tools that personalize the learning experience, making it dynamic and interactive. With adaptive learning paths and real-time tracking of skill gaps, Turing College aims to address one of the main challenges in online education: keeping students engaged and motivated.

One of Turing College’s highlights is developing an AI system that tracks each learner’s journey. This would allow students to understand their strengths and see where improvements can be made, helping them build a learning path suited to their needs. Using project assessment data, mentor feedback, and test scores, the AI-driven system will offer clear insights and actionable guidance, bringing a highly individualized experience to each learner.

AI can play a vital role in enhancing social aspects of learning, like mentorship and collaboration. Turing College encourages timely, meaningful interactions with mentors or peer groups, fostering the social dimension of learning. Backed by the EIC, Turing College is set to drive innovation in education, bringing us closer to AI-enhanced learning that is accessible, impactful, and personally meaningful.
