MELP, a technology start-up that has developed and successfully grown a digital employee well-being management platform, has signed a long-term cooperation agreement with IKI Lietuva. As of 23 January, more than 5,000 employees of the retail chain will be able to use a dedicated app for benefits management and internal communication.

IKI Lietuva employees will be able to receive messages from their employer directly to their smartphones, find information on supplementary health insurance and other benefits with detailed information on how to use them, and enjoy partner offers and discounts. The app will also include additional functionalities at the request of IKI Lietuva.

“We have noticed that large organisations are looking for new ways to motivate and communicate with their employees and that an increasing number of them are using technological, automated solutions to do so: to respond to individual needs, they need to be able to communicate comfortably with each other and to provide flexible benefits. We also see an opportunity for a broader cooperation with IKI Lietuva as a supplier, integrating gift vouchers and discount programmes – a wide range of consumers will be happy to use their services”, says Vidmantas Šiugždinis, MELP CEO and co-founder.

Monika Milė, Head of People and Culture at IKI Lietuva, says that for a large organisation it is important to be able to communicate easily and clearly with employees and to give them personalised benefits.

“Our need was much broader than the standard and we are happy that our partners have met it. For example, they created a game where employees can redeem the points they earn in the store, introduced a separate news section, the possibility to implement automated communication in the recruitment and hiring process, and the possibility to give a birthday discount to colleagues,” says Monika Milė, Head of People and Culture at supermarket chain “Iki”.

According to V. Šiugždinis, the MELP platform not only allows companies to host their own list of employee benfits, but also gives employees the opportunity to choose the motivation they want from more than 6,000 products and services available on the international MELP e-shop. “The employer just needs to decide what value or category of benefits to give to the employees, and people can choose the specific services or supplier themselves,” says Vidmantas.

The MELP platform is already used by more than 20,000 employees in 17 countries and provides companies an opportunity to let employees choose their preferred benefits package, communicate internally and buy gift vouchers in the MELP e-shop. MELP clients in Lithuania include “Ignitis Group”, “Šiaulių bankas”, “Atea Baltic”, “FL Technics”, “Vilniaus Šilumos tinklai” and many other organisations. MELP is certified according to ISO 27001 standard in the field of information security.

“IKI Lietuva”, a member of the international “Rewe Group”, has been operating in Lithuania since 1992. With 244 stores across Lithuania, “IKI Lietuva” is one of the largest retail chains. The company employs around 5,500 people.
